The 2017 Gourmet Soiree Chef Showdown took place at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel on May 21st. This highly anticipated annual fundraising event is presented by the Florida Hospital Foundation and takes the form of an interactive dining experience with top culinary professionals competing to create the best healthy and most delicious meal.
Atlantic Professional Audio was contracted to conceptualize and supply the technical requirements on the night. A fresh approach to the staging of the event was taken by placing four LED walls suspended from truss structures in the corners of the room to ensure that that video and the live camera feed were visible everywhere in the space. A central truss structure which housed additional TV screens, moving lights and remote cameras was built in the middle of the centrally positioned stage. With the audio system radiating from the center outwards and the lighting rig focused on the stage from the perimeter of the room inwards, a novel and practical technical solution was realized by APA Engineered Events.
Funds raised at this event benefit vital programs at Florida Hospital including Florida Hospital for Children’s ongoing education of children on healthy eating habits and life choices through their health and wellness program.
